The food here is decent and they have one of the better lunch menu's in that area of Lake Charles. They are open from 11-3 and usually pretty busy, so get there early. The last time I was there, although they had open tables, I waited ten minutes at the door with my family before I was greeted and walked out before I got seated, who knows how long that would have taken. They hide the mediocrity of their food behind the fact that their waitresses are nice to look at, which they are more popular for. EDIT: 4/27/2010 Fallon, I suppose your comments about seating yourself was somewhat (in defense) directed at my review, but when I was greeted by the owner, I was given the strong impression that I would be seated and not have to seat myself due to the fact I had a baby carriage with me. On all of my previous visits I was seated, or more or less escorted to my table. I won't deny that the plate lunches are alright, the poboys are decent (never had the spuds), but I wouldn't go as far as to say they offer the best of any type of food in Lake Charles. Perhaps you are a tad bit biased having worked there for so long....or do I need to make another visit and try one of your suggestions, if you care to make any? I won't allude to any assumptions on decorum, but I've always been treated friendly when I dine-in with guys, just not so much when I'm with my wife and family. Here's a secret...I tip very well for good service no matter who I am with, not for the "scenery" and conversation. I do like how all of the employee's treat one another like family. Very hard to find in the service industry nowadays. Now that I've thought about it more, I'll bump it up to a three star rating....

We went there for lunch earlier today and loved it. I had the Triple Threat Po-Boy (roast beef, ham, and turkey) without the mayo. I had previously tried the two main po-boy attractions at Darrell's on College Street and found Nina-Ps to be superior. This po-boy was in line with what I had in New Orleans and was very satisfying. We also had the crawfish balls as an appetizer and they were good as well. Service was fast and efficient and the waitress stayed out of way and let us talk work. I would definitely go here again and try some different po-boys.

Food is certainly edible, but I've had better gumbo. What is NOT to miss is the girls that every Hooter's girl wishes she was. Gorgeous and sweet as peach cobbler. Consequently the place is way packed at lunch. Go early.

Ate here a few months ago with a co-worker. She had a poboy & I had cheeseburger & fries (the daily special was something fried like most of the menu was, unless you want a salad). Neither of us were impressed by the floppy greasy fries (my burger was nothing special) & the service was pretty poor for there only being 1 other table of 2 ppl in the place at ~130pm. Very lacking in excellence of taste or service. I don't care how pretty my waitress is if she doesn't know how to answer basic questions about the menu or provide decent service. And there are definitely better poboy places here. Boring food + bad service= not going back.

Beignets are delicious!!!!! 2nd only to Cafe du Monde in New Orleans. Otherwise, great Blue cheese burger! Nothing bad at our table for party of 8.

Great food and great service! Plans were announced for the rebuild after the fire. I am still dreaming for the Bunch Burger. My wife and I are ready for this place to come back!!

Food and service is good. The only thing is their hours are weird. Everytime we decide to go there, it's closed.

This place was a once per week lunch spot while I was on a temporary assignment in Lake Charles in 2008. The weekly plate lunches were always great, but what was surprisingly impressive was the delicious burgers. The bacon cheese burger here was one of the best I've ever had. This place would really get crowded around noon, so it is recommended to arrive around 11:30 or so. The servers were friendly (and 4 of them signed a shirt as a parting gift) Notable Items - Can't go wrong w/ any of these: Bacon Cheese Burger Chicken Fried Chicken Beef Tips w/ Rice

Food is real good or should I say excellent. The service was a little slow at lunch time because they were so busy.

Great plate lunches Monday-Saturday! I'm not even sure if they're open on Sunday. Great sides with all plate lunches! Their Burgers & PoBoys are also great! To top it off they have Beignets! Great wait staff with great service!

Absolute service nightmare. We never received menus or drink orders even as other patrons, who arrived after us, were helped. As an optimistic couple, we chose to wait roughly 20 minutes in hopes of a glimmer of service, yet were neglected.

A bit disappointed. After hearing a few people brag about the potatoes we had to try them. I got the philly steak and it was so good looking but it had no taste, no seasoning and not meat flavor and it could use some cheese. My husband got the fired chicken potato and he was disappointed as well. The crab cake appetizer had way too much breeding. The fried green beans and crawfish kickers was good. The waitress switched 3 times and 2 of the 3 didn't know how to take an order. My tea was very cloudy and spoiled tasting. Don't think I'll be back.

This was the first time I've eaten here in probably four years and I have to say the food was fantastic. I had the chicken salad salad and my friend had the shrimp Po boy. Each of us loved our food and the service was spot on! I'll be back soon
